Earlier today Balasubramaniam retracted that sworn statement which stunningly implicated Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak with the murdered Altantuya Shaariibuu.

He had said that he had affirmed that statement under duress . He did not reveal as to who forced him to sign that statement.

In place of that sworn statement, Balasubramaniam today released a new statutory declaration which removed all mention of Najib in it.

Americk earlier told Malaysiakini that he had no knowledge of Balasubramaniam's actions this morning, adding that the last he met with his client was at 4.45pm yesterday when he dropped him off at the Brickfields police station.

Balasubramaniam was represented by a new lawyer this morning.

At the press conference, Americk said that he met Balasubramaniam two month's ago.
