Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak today denied allegations that he had links with murdered Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu as claimed by a private detective.
He also admitted meeting Saiful Bukhari Azlan a few days before he (Saiful) lodged a police report against Anwar Ibrahim, accusing the PKR leader of sodomising him.
"He came to my house because he needed my help because he was so traumatised. That was it," Najib told reporters in Parliament. He added that there was no conspiracy involved in the police report as being claimed by Anwar.
"I did not advise Saiful to lodge a police report," added Najib.
On the statutory declaration filed by private eye P Balasubramaniam, who was hired by Najib's close associate Abdul Razak Baginda to deal with the Altantuya problem, Najib once again denied the allegations made therein.
He said that the claims were concocted, adding that he never had sexual relationship with Altantuya as claimed by Balasubramaniam.
Balasubramaniam's statutory declaration created shockwaves today with its several revelations that Najib was also implicated in the Altantuya matter.
